The former Digital Electronic and Nuclear Instrumentation Center (DENIC) which is now the Engineering Services Center (ESC) is one of the Centres of the National Nuclear Research Institute of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC). The Engineering Services Center was established to provide technical support in the form of installation, maintenance, and repairs of nuclear and other scientific instruments in GAEC and for other organizations in Ghana as well. Act 204 (1963) was superseded by Act 588 (2000) which gives the authorization for GAEC and as such ESC to provide the above mention services By this current Act, DENIC and now ESC is to provide the above-mentioned services, pursue research, development and training to support research activities in GAEC and for income generation.  Since the inception of the Center in 1963 the inflow of technical support from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been remarkable.

    Repairs /Maintenance and Calibration

    • Internally, ESC repairs/maintains, and calibrates all the scientific equipment in the laboratories of GAEC
    • Externally it repairs/ maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment for health institutions in the country.

    Training

    ESC organizes training courses (designed and developed) on microcontrollers and PLCs-based systems for engineers, technicians, MPhil, BSc, and HND students from tertiary institutions all over the country.

    ESC provides in–house training depending on the company’s request.  ESC offers an extensive program of training in electronics with hand-on experience and learning opportunities that are tailored to meet your industrial and company needs.  ESC in-house training services provide you with a flexible and cost-effective approach to learning where we bring our trainers to your door stairs.
